“I found a nest in the skeleton of the ivy,
A soft nest of country moss and dream herb.” - Yvan Goll

This painting reflects on refuge and renewal...the instinct to seek safety, warmth, and belonging even within decay. The nest becomes both metaphor and memory: a tender construction built from what remains, proof that life persists in the quietest corners.

Through interwoven layers of green, rose, and earth tones, the composition evokes shelter taking form amid ruin, nature’s hand mending what time unravels. Each mark carries both fragility and resilience, mirroring the ways we, too, build comfort from remnants.

It is a meditation on the small sanctuaries that hold us...the burrow, the hearth, the nest...and the enduring need to feel at home in a changing world.
