Created in collaboration with a PhD research scientist, DA BEAST explores the decline of the UK’s once-abundant kelp forests—vital underwater ecosystems now severely depleted. As a textile artist and environmentalist who works with remnants from the fashion and interiors industries, I aim to create work that resonates not only with art lovers but also with those concerned about sustainability.

This piece draws attention to the research and restoration efforts underway, inviting viewers to consider how interconnected we are with the natural world. None of us can change the world alone, but collectively—through awareness and understanding—we can begin to make a difference.
