Sculptural Vessel Series - Like and Egyption
Description
Thrown and hand-built porcelain vessel. I hand-build each porcelain vessel in three stages. I begin by layering rolled strips of porcelain, allowing the material to follow the movement of my hands and form flowing, curving lines. I then open the form, creating windows that invite the viewer to look into the interior and sense the relationship between surface and space. In the final stage, I refine these openings so light and shadow can move through the piece.

These vessels reflect my ongoing exploration of space, resilience and the unseen forces that shape our experience. Some works are subtly finished with 23-carat gold leaf or gold lustre
